Tour My Finished Mini Accordion Sketchbook

Currently, I’ve been in a phase where I’m trying to allow myself to ‘play’ when it comes to watercolors.  If you know me, you’ll know that one of the things I’ve always believed is that there is always something to learn from everyone. And in turn, that means we are always learning.

I approach life with a sense of curiosity and wonder as much as I can. And with watercolors, I can confidently say that it is true 100% of the time. Even when I’m teaching, my perspective is that I am sharing what I have learned up until that point. And that as I learn more and continue to improve, I’ll have even more to share and to teach.

This mini-sketchbook was definitely a form of playing around with watercolors. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it. I was ready for it to turn out “badly” and I didn’t care.

But the process of putting down paint and just letting my inspiration lead me wherever it wanted, was the reason I ended up with a spread of wisteria that I was actually proud of!  Admittedly, the first half of the sketchbook felt and looked like I wasn’t sure what I was doing. But somehow, by working through it, I learned what I didn’t like so that I could continue trying and ultimately try something completely different on the second half (backside) of the sketchbook pages.

You can watch the video below to see the whole sketchbook for yourself! Hope you enjoy this little tour!
